Jazz At The Merchants House

Jazz at the Merchants House was launched in February 2018.

Jazz at the Merchants House promotes and hosts monthly Sunday evening concerts in the historic Merchants Hall in the Merchants House of Glasgow featuring prominent Scottish and international jazz musicians.

The Merchants Hall is one of Glasgow’s hidden gems and, since our launch in 2018, has received universal acclaim from both audiences and performers for its acoustic, atmosphere, ambience and comfort – and its high quality Steinway Grand piano.

Jazz at the Merchants House artistes have included horn players Randy Brecker, Tim Garland, Xhosa Cole, Helena Kay, Paul Towndrow, Chad McCullough, Tod Dickow, Colin Steele, Rick Taylor, Martin Kershaw, Laura MacDonald, Helena Kay, Michael Owers, Tommy Smith, and Konrad Wiszniewski, pianists Brian Kellock, Pete Johnstone, Rich Harold, Jason Rebello, Nitai Hershkovits, Gabriel Latchin, Euan Stevenson, Tom Gibbs, Paul Harrison and Steve Hamilton, bassists Yuri Gulabev, Brian Shiels, Euan Burton, Brodie Jarvie, Kenny Ellis, Mario Caribe, David Bowden, Roy Percy, Conor Murray, guitarists Don Paterson, Graeme Stephen, Joe Williamson, Nigel Clark, James Kitchman, Tom Ollendorf drummers Ari Hoenig, Alyn Cosker, Stephen Henderson, Corrie Dick, David Ingamells, Stu Brown, Tom Bancroft and Max Popp, vibraphonist Miro Herak violinist Tim Kliphuis, and musicians from other genres, including Gyan Singh and Sodhi (tabla) Greg Lawson and Sharat Chandra Srivastava (violin) Ross Ainslie (pipes) and Laura Wilkie and Adam Sutherland (fiddle), Midori Jaeger (cello & voice).
